People fleeing war and persecution undertake unimaginably arduous and dangerous journeys to seek protection for themselves and their families. They deserve a safe haven, a warm welcome and an opportunity to rebuild their lives. But sadly what they often encounter when they reach Europe and the UK is further danger, hostility, prejudice and a slow, cruel, and arcane asylum process. Community Sponsorship is a practical way to make a real difference, providing a safe route for a refugee family to resettle in the UK. WHO ARE WE, AND WHAT ARE WE DOING? We're a group of concerned people who live and/or work in South Manchester, predominantly Hulme & Chorlton. We have committed to support a refugee family to resettle in our local area.
